My Nosy Be Boys - Cobalt and Daedalus

Just wanted to post photos of my two little blueberries, both from Jim at the Cham Company. Cobalt, my tiny 8 month old has been looking great these past few weeks. I've essentially had him living outside for days at a time and he's been growing a little more and showing much better colors:

And presenting little Daedalus! I've had him for a little while now, and I'm stunned by how gorgeous he is. These photos are from when he wasn't even a solid 3 months old yet, and look at that amount of color! He's 3.5 months now and he just shed yesterday and is already significantly more blue. He's my 5th and LAST chameleon for the remainder of my college career, and I spent all summer looking for my final panther. And if I could, I would have gotten a male from 5 different gorgeous males, but I kept going back to Jim's Nosy be males. And as soon as he posted this little guy in the classifieds, I was smitten.

Without further ado, here he is:
(He has SO much red, it's gorgeous. All those darker markings are really maroon or deep red, not brown or black)

Enjoy! :D <3

Thanks! I love Jim's Nosy bes because the dad's are wildcaught, so you get a lot of really interesting genetic variation. The "True blue" Nosys are gorgeous too, but I love these guys with a little bit of red or yellow.

I hope you can get one soon! I think they're amazing.

Maybe it's the angle, but colbalts head pads look a little too flat or sunken. How much do you feed him?

No, you're right. I feed him a lot, but I swear he has parasites because he's not growing much. We've just never been able to get a positive fecal test, and I've had him tested several times. I'm feeding him like 10-15 mediumish crickets, or crickets mixed with superworms, hornworms, roaches... He's on the same diet as my other young ones were on, and Charlotte has grown like a weed and so has Cerberus.

Nice...Olimpia, gotta love Jims Nosy be bloodlines!!! Looks like you got a great one. Jim has some sweet Nosy Bes. I got a kneecap female a couple weeks ago for one of my boys and she is gorgeous.

Thanks! The second one is a Kneecap baby too. I think Kneecap is gorgeous! Originally with Cobalt I'd asked for a Kneecap son, but I got a Greaseball son instead, which was still fine. But I was left with the itch! lol As soon as I saw the photo of this guy with his red eyes I knew he was going to be a awesome as his dad. Now I see he has so much more red, so I'm really interested to see what he'll look like in a few months.

I'd recommend Jim's chams to anyone. All his breeders are to die for.

I love Cobalt's colors, especially in the first pic. It'll be really interesting to watch Daedalus develop, especially with that red around the eyes.

That's sort of how Hyperion is. His head pads are just barely filled out and even when he eats 15 or more large items per day consecutively, he stays the same weight and his pads stay the same. He can also pull his in occationally which is odd (ithink? Or is that normal?)

Thank you for the compliments!

Pssh - Yea, sounds like our guys are the same. I doubt mine will grow very much more in the coming year, but I'm fine with him being a petite panther.

Most nosey be's Ive seen dont get real large. Not like the sambavas or the nosy mitsios. My mitsio is an absolute beast. Its strange how some of the locales avg sizes are smaller than others.

Turns out Daedalus is not a Nosy be, but a Faly-Ambanja cross. Jim and I had a chat when he saw these photos, and he amits I somehow ended up with one of those instead of a Nosy be. I'm more than fine with it (hell, I've always wanted a Nosy Faly! lol And an ambanja... so this kinda rolls all that up in a neat little package!)

And I've always defended crossed chameleons, so this essentially puts my money where my mouth is! :D

Whoa, these guys are gorgeous! Especially love that first pic. He has so much depth in color. He's gorgeous. Love the red around Daedalus's eyes. Beautiful.
