My new panther just came!!

im so excited my new baby panther just came in the mail!! The ups guy dropped hime off and i took the box inside. i set it on the counter and opened the top and pulled out peices of crumbled paper and then i saw a little bag. i pulled it out and cut the top off only to find this little baige chameleon already coming out the top! hes so cute! haha. he went right on my hand and i put him in his new cage. hes so tiny. thank you so much cainschams hes in great shape and very alert.

how long should i wait before i can handle him a bit? ive heard about 3 days to a week to let them get acustomed to their new home. i have some vines coming in the mail so i have to take him out later anyways.

i don't handle my chameleons except when I need to take him out of the cage for sunning and cleaning day.

I would go so far as to say dont even look at him more than necessary for a day or two, while he settles in.

im going to leave him basically alone except for feeding and watering.

Hey Ken. Glad you guy got there safe! I wouldnt mess with him only to feed and water for a few days and definatly let him get used to his environment for now. As stated they really shouldnt be handled to often mostly to clean and if you can take him out into the sun he will love that. Some chams are more tolerant of handleing than others. I have one that just runs out of the cage as soon as I open it. I let him crawl around then put some food in his cage and he goes right back in. These guys are a little smaller than the last clutch since I couldnt get them any good sun time. Also remember that veileds grow a lot faster than panthers. Keep me updated on the little guy and Im glad you are happy!
