My new buddy!

The t8 only puts light like 2-3 inches into your cage. T5 is way better.

Guess you didn’t take my advice in your other thread to get everything setup properly before brining the Cham home.
Yea I actually had the entire thing set up and temperatures where they need to be 24 hours before I purchased him, thanks for assuming though!

Use any branches that aren't pine or sappy and you'll be fine. I just rinse them with the hose and put them in. Definitely fill the cage out more. I'd get rid of the plastic junk, veileds like to nibble leaves.

Please fill out the help form, no offense intended by it, I suggest any new keeper doing it just so everything can be set straight. We've all had to tweak things in the beginning, nothing to be ashamed of.
Thank you, none taken, all the info is greatly appreciated!

And I actually ordered the exact lighting shown on a YouTube video that was uploaded by an active member here :)

Sounds great! Some use thumb tacks to affix light weight sticks and branches to the screen. I used twist ties on my first cage and splurged for dragon strand ledges for my upgrade. Do make sure to fill out the help sheet as members can check your husbandry and ensure all is correct. Don’t forget to post a pic of your little guy. :)
Here he is just relaxing after some food and exploring :)

I definitely will!! When I use oak tree sticks should i shred the bark off? Also what kind of bedding should I get him, I dont particularly like newspaper, I'd rather it look mor natural
Not sure what you mean by bedding. They sleep clinging to a stick or vine. If you mean what to put on cage bottom, I leave mine the bare plastic tray.

Are you sure you have a boy?

Yea I'm sorry I'm used to saying bedding for my beardy, I meant something to put at bottom of cage to make it look more natural, but I have decided I will fill it in with live plants (I work for a company that sells some of the non harmful plants I have researched) and hopefully he enjoys that, along with the many more natural sticks I cleaned and baked for him, we were told by the man this was indeed a Male and showed us how to identify by the bulge by genital area

Hmm...I’m new to chams and don’t know about sexing veileds by the genital bulge. I do know that the male veiled has a pronounced spur on their hind feet...like a little toe. Can you post a good picture of his back feet?

Yea I am as well and my wife and I were trying to see last night and it does have them, I've also read on here it's a rare chance females do as well just really tiny, so I am not entirely sure, I definitely will try once i get a chance, "he" is hanging in some leaves right now as I feel I spooked him a little bit when changing his fruit and veggies out

I just learned that veileds can be sexed by genital bulge, but please do still post a pic of his back feet when you can. Some females do have little foot nubs.
Just a reminder to fill out the help form for review of your husbandry and make sure everything is perfect for your little cutie.

I wasn’t assuming. I was looking at you picture and I seen a cage that wasn’t suitable for a chameleon. He can get nowhere close enough to the lights. But w.e. I’m out.

That is what it should look like
Your setup needs more branches toward the top, think (FOREST CANOPY)!! where they live in nature

I revamped it, still using both fake vines until it is a little older and bigger, does it look better? I also have a few live plants ordered
