Hi guys I'm sure this question has been asked a mission times but I'm still new to all this and having trouble finding an answer.

I got my baby Veiled Chameleon yesterday(maybe just a few weeks old)
and I cant seem to get him to eat anything.
I'm getting worried because he hasnt eaten a thing since I got him.

I have tried leaving hoppers in the cage with him but they just run away(and he doesnt show too much interest), I tried cup feeding him but he just keeps looking at me(he's still cautious of me).
I tried giving him some mealworms but he just tries to run away from me.

Please help me

Its normal when they are in new enclosures and new surroundings to not eat and be sort of dormant. Its an adjustment period. It took my Veiled week and half before she ate anything. Then oh boy do they eat. I would also make sure the size of food is the right size. If only few week old you may want to look into a fruit fly culture.

Thanks for the response, I'm just really worried.

I thought it might take a bit of time to adjust but can they really go a week and a half without eating ?!

If your cham is just a few weeks make sure the food is small enough for it. If the crickets are too big they might not recognize them as food. If you're not already, leave the crickets in the cup for him for the day. It's amazing to see them flick the crickets up with their tongue but he might need to warm up to eating in a new environment before he will eat with an audience. Chameleons like their solitude and yours is probably a little shy.

It appears that he is a bit shy. Most of the time he just looks at me when I present him with the hoppers, or tries to walk the opposite way.
I'm just worried about him starving
