ok so i just got my first chameleon.i got him monday (february 20). hes 1 year old. beautiful cham. i got him from a lady whos had him since he was 3 months. hes 1 year old now.

i have everything set up how it suppost to i did my homework before i got him. you know dripper,100 watts heat lamp,5.0uvb light, save live plants, termometers, temperature is 84f to 88f under heat lamp and about 70 to 75 on the rest of the cage. i got him in a 18x18x36 zoomed cage.o and i spray the cage couple times a day

ok so now my consern is that he hasent been eating or drinkind nothing since monday. i tryed crickets and superworms he shows no interest at all! yesturday i tryed feeding him a cricket and he opened his mouth to try and bite me (cuz hes a scare so hes a lil agressive) so let the cricket go on hes mouth and eat it so i did the same thing with a superworm and he also eat it.i(idk if that was right) but i want him to eat..

another thing since i got him monday all hes been doing is crawling all round hes cage from side to side from top to buttom. but today hes not moving much hes just sitting under hes heat lamp. for the most part..

um if theres is anything i can do to help??

That cage sounds a bit small for an adult veiled. He may be stressed with this.

What size cage was he in before? Is it a new cage?

Chams can take a good few days to adjust and settle when moved to new surroundings.

not eating or drinking

Do you know what the previous owner was feeding him?

Have you tried letting his food free range?

Did he eat from a tray previously?

he was been fed crickets and superworms. crickets free rage and superworms on a tray. i try to do it the same as hes previus owner.

I would probably say he is still adjusting to his new surroundings.

If he does another poop then you will know if he has eaten something. They can eat/drink when you aren't looking sometimes. Sneaky guys at times.

I'd say give him another couple of days. A Cham his age can go a week without food without any worry.

Just keep offering food and keep misting him as normal I am sure he will be fine. He looks healthy from the picture anyway

I agree with Bernie. It can take them a week or so to adjust to their new environments. Some chameleons will delight you by immediately taking advantage of the dripper and hunting down a few crickets, but others won't. I would keep offering food (if you can take them out at the end of the day, that's ideal) and maybe give him some space. If you're watching carefully to see him eat, he might never eat.

Well sense the previous owner had him in a glass he mite just be adjusting too the new screen cage ...
I know that mine did not like changing from glass to screen! Freaked them out...
Have heard of people covering some sides of cages to reduce visual stress and am wondering if covering some sides would also cut down on the airflow your guy might not be used to?
Just a thought?

There is a great article about keeping them in the right kind of glass cages that provide airflow/ventilation. So, since mine started in glass and freaked about getting put in screen I went and spent about $600 on another glass set-up for mine. I know of chams kept both in glass and screen and do well.

If I had it to do over again, I would cover three of the sides of the cage and after a few days uncover another side and see how that goes for the stress level.

Big change for your beautiful guy.

This is an amazing article about keeping chams in glass.

Veiled cages can be warmer than panthers, correct me if i am wrong, so I think up to 90-92 degrees for a limited amount of time in the basking spot for veileds throughout the day is good, as long as the bulb of course isn't close enough to be burned.

Also it sounds like he is stressed, he looks healthy and it sounds like you are doing a good job.
