Hi all! Can somebody help out please? My 4 months old panther won’t eat unless is me feeding him.
I leave crickets in the enclosure before I go to work and when I get back in the afternoon I can see he didn’t touch them.
Where and how I suppose to leave his food in the enclosure?
Thank you

Try using a cup to feed him! Then you can keep track of how much he is eating and he will know there is food in there consistantly.

Thanks, that’s what I’ m doing but it seems not to work for now..
I got him last Thursday, I’ ll be persistent, he’ ll learn eventually!:)

Some of my panthers that will feed from a cup and some will leave them as if they are not there and eat anything outside the cup. You might try putting a small stick in the cup so the crickets can climb out. It may trigger a response from your cham so that he realizes where the crickets are coming from. Eventually he will associate the cup with food.
If yours wont cup feed, try putting the crix in a larger dish in the bottom so he can see them and have a branch above the dish so he can get to them easily. Also put some veggies in the dish with the crickets so they stay gutloaded. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys! He is my first cham and even though I' ve done lots of researches before I got him it seems to be always something you didn't predict! I really want him to be a happy and healthy chap!:D

you know you can learn how to build a house. but actually doing it is a whole different story.

This is why these forums are here. we expect our forumers to be educated and understand simple things, then we can assist you and what-not.

Anyway, my veiled since day 1 ate free range, mostly because the cage was pretty small.... so if the cage is what is reccomended for a large cham, then you will be having a hard time because the youngster will have no idea where to look. try a feeding dish suspended in the air so she/he doesnt crush the circkets with his/her poop.

I've done my reserch before getting the cham if that 's what you 're saying:)
And yep I tried a suspended feeding cup and still no joy.

i have a few chams that wont cup feed either. its the weirdest thing. most of my panthers will cup feed. but one will only eat bugs on brances or free ranging. one of my jackson girls will only hand feed or on free ranging bugs. each cham will have its own eating habbits but your lucky to have one who will eat from your hand. i have 2 ambanjas whow will eat if im at least 10 feet away and not facing there cage. so its not the easiest to work with fussy eaters. you can try multiple feeding dishes with multiple feeders to see if that stimulates the cham.

I have a panther around the same age and he refuses to eat out of A feeding dish/cup, but the second I dump them into the cage he eats them all
