My little guy

My veiled is about 3 4 months old and this Morning I saw him open his mouth and hold it open for a few seconds for the first time (I know this is a way they regulate heat), he was lined up with the thermometer and it was about 87 degrees he's done in about three times in the past 10 minutes.

As I was typing this he moved about half way down the cage lower than I've seen him go .

He's wide awake and attentive as can be he's still moving around just in the lower half of his cage.

I turned the light off (his UVB is still on) to maybe cool him down and he turned bright green instantly and almost flew to the top of the cage to his chill spot.

That's probably too warm for him them. Try to keep it at about low 80's* for a guy that young. You can raise it to 85* when he's older if he needs it but for now he probably would like it a little cooler.

Im going to the store to buy a lamp stand tomorrow (can't today getting hit by a hurricane today) you think he'll be alright today? The temp is high 70s low 80s with the light off

You don't really need the light atm then, a basking temp of 85 is plenty for a young Veiled. What uv light are you using?

5.0 reptiglo

Same as I use. Having read on this forum the stats of the light quality, I'm definitely going to buy the 5.0 Reptisun when it's time to replace them though.
