Hi everyone, I just rescued a veiled chameleon. I have done tons of research, and know all the basics as in lights temperature, humidity. I know absolutely nothing about her other than she is a female veiled chameleon... when I picked her up her cage was bone dry and had no lights! I got her home set up her lights and she climbed as fast as she could to her basking spot.. I also misted her and her cages and she drank like she had not had water in weeks!!.. poor baby!!.. who knows what she has been through... so i have a couple questions that I was hoping some of you could help me out with! 1st is.. I have offered her food ( dubias, red runners, crickets) she was not interested at all.. so how long should I give her before I start to worry about her not eating?.. Im sure she is quite stressed with all the moving and anything else she has been through.. also I found that the plant in her cage was full of mealworms and beatles.. I don't feed mealworms to my beardies because of the chitin.. Is this the same for chameleons? Any advice anyone can give me to help her settle comfortably would be great!! Thanks!
