My First Cham =D

hello friends!

Alrighty so im gonna go ahead and dive in. bought my first cham from a local breeder here in Miami. He's got great looking chams and i bought mine he's a 4 month old baby Ambanja named Spunky =D. So far his poops are great and and he was quick to his explore his enclosure. now im trying to get him to cup feed. he only eats crickets that are loose. he drinks in front of me like a champ and i think that means hes used to me. you tell me lol. ill post pics later on when i get home. anyways yeah a few tips on cup feeding are welcomed. <3

Hello and welcome to the forum. Now that you have one chameleon be very careful, as others seem to follow that one home. I know because this has happened to me. Life will slowly change, first you will find yourself thinking about him when you are at work, or out some where. Next you will feel happy just to see him and know he is ok. Tell you all the rest is just too much for you right now. We will get to that later, but welcome again, you will love it here.

Quick not if he doesnt wanna cup feed and prefers to hunt let him this will help eapecially with his toung some of my chams perfer cup feeding while others wont bother and prefer the hunt it can also hurt their toung when they try and catch an escape that left the cup. So be careful and post pucs of the little guy i love ambanjas!!!

Hello and welcome to you and Spunky - he looks like a good 'un, congrats Have you tried putting a few mealworms in his cup? That worked to get mine started. Also, make sure the cup is big enough to get a good view inside of crickets moving around.

I got him from a local Breeder. I'm sorry but i dont have any pics of his sire. I'm not too sure but he's got a grandpa from Kammers but don't quote me lol. But the guy was really cool and nice enough to say that if i felt he was lethargic we can arrange picking a new one or refunding me completely if that helps if any.


and YES IM SUPER HAPPY lol. I got home yesterday and thought he was sick cuz his eyes were closed and i thought i saw puke at the bottom of his cage. but all is well. not puke just a murdered cricket and his eye was fine just cleaning it =D.

So far my plan is to breed him with my friend's female and then raise babies =D. hopefully all goes well.
