my first cham arrives tomorrow!

ever since i was a boy of 11 or 12 when i first started out with reptiles ive wanted a chameleon and at 27 i finally went ahead with it.

my male veiled chameleon is arriving tomorrow with his full setup, im taking him in from someone who doesnt have time to care for him anymore. im really excited and have been busy today making him a dripper, buying him some nice safe plants for his habitat and rereading all the advice i can.

hes 11 months old, is healthy and eating well and cant wait to meet him.

if anyone has any advice or anything useful to consider especially in the first few days/weeks it would be great. the more info i arm myself with the better.

Use the plants you bought and let your cham hang out on them until you set up everything. Enjoy, and WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION!

When you get him, post pictures of him and his setup. We can then offer any advice on if changes are needed. Sadly when you buy a cham like that often it will arrive in less that ideal condition. I hope you are lucky, let us know.

ive done my best to make sure hes coming to me healthy. the current owner has emailed me a tonne of pics of him and his enclosure, feeding etc. he has all the right equiptment and a really nice looking 2x2x4 viv exotic. i know its glass panels but ive already got the mesh doors made to replace one or both of the doors if needs be so its just a case of him hanging out in his new plants til i can set it up.
