I have a veiled(5months)
i have a heating light and a uv light? what is UVB? nobody told me about having 3 lights?
My cage is exacly 3 feet tall,but it is not on the floor...
im not sure about the other dimensions..
i went in 3 different reptile stores and they sold me exacly this;
* REPTIGLOW, 13W, 10.0 UVB light !
is that good?
well then i guess not..
Ill have to change everything ! ...
U should be able to return it, esp if thats what they recommended, just stomp ur feet that their inexperience could have caused ur cham to lose its eyesight!! They should at least let u exchange it for the correct kind, just remember u will need a seperate type fixture to hold this type of light since it is not a screw in, and the pet store will rob u blind on one, its best to either A. order one online from homedepot, or big apple herp, or B. buy ur correct light and take it with u to the hardware store and tell them u need a fixture for it, explain what it is for and that it doesn't need to be fancy, remove any cover (plastic lens) if it comes with one, try for light weight. It won't hurt ur cham to turn the bad one off- having nothing for a day or two is better than having the bad one on a day or two longer, as for ur other bulb a .99 bulb 60-100 watts depending on enclosure size works great for basking, u don't need a fancy "basking bulb" although if u already have it it won't hurt. Do u have a digital therm with probe? If not I would pick one of those up too!!well then i guess not..

In a gist:
You want 2 lightings:
1. UVB source (UV): ReptiSUN 5.0 LINEAR fluorescent lamp:

2. UVA source (HEAT): Incandescent house bulb. Experiment with the wattage to achieve desired temperature.

AVOID compact UVB lighting such as this:

or this:

For this reason:

No need for fancy night light heat like this:

or ceramic heat bulb like this:

unless the temp at night drop below 50F.
Hope that helps
