my chams lost a toe nail :(

has anyone else had this before? im not sure when it happened but he seems uneffected by it sorry i dont have any pics as my camera phone wouldnt show it up properly.

will he be ok do i need to do anything with it?

As long as it doesn't affect his walking than it should be fine.

Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected. Lining your cage with the plastic fencing like this: https://www.chameleonforums.com/mem...luminum-cage-picture4609-cage-laying-bin.html

helps keep this from happening.

I had a big male that lost a toe nail. I didn't notice until who knows when. It never infected and it didn't affect his movement.

I line my cages with the netting shown on the link about but only use it on 2 sides. No toenail issues so far.

My veieled has missing toe nails and he was a rescue. Be careful they don't loose to many cause it can affect there grip. He has trouble holding tight to some things and I have to watch him carefully when he is doing things, though he can still climb his cage and eat properly and all that good stuff. Anyhow missing one he should be fine just like everyone said just be careful it don't get an infection!

Their nails don't grow back at all??
