That looks almost exactly like extra fluid. I would take him to a vet asap so they can drain it properly before matters get worse.

well i can't take him to a vet right now, an how could this happen? is there anything i could do for him atm? would tom marrow be good for a vet? to night its closed

Actually that doesn’t look like an abscess at all. Veiled Chameleons store fat in their head pads. How much and what have you been feeding your chameleon?

But it swelled up in 3 days....fat would accrue over time.

I'm thinking it's an allergic reaction to something at the friend's house and might well start going down on its own.

I'd suggest a shower to help get him clean of the allergen.

there are a lot of different reason's a veiled's casque can swell. you won't know for sure unless you take him to a vet. that being said, i have seen this many times, and i have never seen a veiled die from casque swelling.

however, you are right. it is quite swollen, and for a drastic change to happen in three days is most certainly odd

I have just lost my mail cham, for a long time his casque slowly got bigger, my vet originally tried to drain it but there was no fluid in it. I was told on the forum that they store fat in the casque, this helped because I was quite conserned. He died at 5.5 yrs with a very fat casque, my vet suspected it could have been a seveire fungle infection or a tumer but to have him tested for this at his age i dont feel would have been fair to him plus he had been through so much in his little life it was time to let him rest. His eyes were rolling and almost getting stuck, my vet was concerned a nerve had presure on it. If you can go to the vet with as much info as poss, ideas about what it might be as my vet had not seen this before and he has worked with a lot of chams... good luck
