My Chameleon (Mazzy) tail has turned black

My female veil chameleon Mazzys tail has turned black. I will post pictures. She is still actively using her tail. I felt her tail she didn't feel any discomfort. I was closing her door and she snuck out of her enclosure while I was cleaning her. I heard a slight hiss but immediately noticed her and did not shut all the way. I feel so horrible. She loves her enclosure so much she never leaves.

She is the gravid female veil. She still hasn't laid her eggs but shes at the restless stage still crawling all over her enclosure. Her patterns are as bright as ever. She did dig a small test hole but havent seen another. Still keeping a close eye.

Thank you

So you caught her tail in the door?
Yes no excuses and not making this lighter than it is. Cause we are worried. But the door didn't close all the way. Still open about 85 degrees. She let out a light hiss. She is gravid we did look up to see if she is egg bound as well. To see why her tail is black.

Well I have used it. It was recommended to me for treating radiation burns by doctors. It worked great but finding it was hard. Got it at a health food store. If it was my veiled, I would use it. That’s just me. It’s derived from a flower.

Yeah I been in pharmacy for over 15 years. I asked my pharmacists i worked with over the years and they said the same thing. Plant derived. Thank you for your help

BTW from here on out, when her tail sheds I would help to make sure no blood flow gets cut off. Chams heal very slow so have patience.
Thats a good idea. I know I read dont help the chams w shedding. But that does make alot of sense.
I did look at her tail closely the black is going away this morning. I checked her scales and was feeling her tail it didn't bother her. But still keeping a close eye on her. Thank you
