Hi all!!!
Where we live, there are wild gecko every where in everyones houses (i think because no one closes there windows.) Any how, there was a gecko hanging out on the window screen (common) and my pregnant female Jacksons cham ate it!!!! Is she going to be ok? Is that normal behavior? I feel really bad about it. I feel sorry for the gecko. We love our geckos, to have a gecko in your home is good luck. If it is common for chams to eat geckos, i wont feel as bad and will be relieved to know she didnt eat something bad for her. So, what do you all think about this. We also have anoles everywhere. Can she eat those? they hang out on the windows as well and if she shouldnt eat them I need to figure out a way to keep them out of her area.... although that is almost impossible....

diet

So you are going to light a fire storm here.....I fed mine a couple of baby anoles.....some people got upset and freaked out about parasites. Some were cool with it and say its nature that they eat any and everything. Just have your normal fecal samples done a couple times a year......let the fire storm begin.......

No storm here. I live in florida and the anoles are in abundance. I dont feed any to mine. He ate one two about a month ago that got into our patio and he has a large outdoor cage with chicken wire and I try to shoo them out but god only knows he has probably gotten ahold of some in there too!. He is fine. Your cham should be fine too. As far as the feeding, to each his own!

pinkies are high in fat I really dont recommend it
an anole or gecko would be a better option

I wouldnt feed an anole or gecko
but they are ok once in a while as long
as you have regular fecal checkups

ah, ok. thanks for the info! i was really worried she was going nuts or was going to get sick or not be able to digest it. She seems to be happy with her choice of snack. :)
