My camera sees more than my eyes

Was taking a few pix today of Jax and his mouth does look a little puffy still. I'm getting old and my eyes are getting bad but my camera shows me its still a little puffy. Than I took some of him drinking and you can see white bumps in his mouth, Not sure if they should be there or this is still from the mouth rot. Also have been told by the kids one of his horns had a crack but couldn't see anything but in the pic below you can see the crack real well :( Will this grow back if he cracks it all the way? Just need someone to tell me what they think of his over all health. I worry because I'm not sure about any of this.

Maybe you should e-mail that picture of the white and puffy mouth to your vet and see if a bit more treatment isn't in order?

I'm not sure about the cracked horn. Hopefully someone with experience will chime in. If you end up back at the vet, bring that picture.

I fully sympathize about the eyes! I need glasses to see more than 12 inches away, but wearing my glasses I can't see anything closer than 12 inches....

His mouth looks puffy/swollen in that area yes, I cant say much more about it though.

His eyes look good, and looks good overall to me.

My first instinct about the cracked horn, is that it needs to be braced and or glued to prevent further cracking. I have no idea if thats what needs to be done though, or how to go about it. ;/ I would think that if it progressed to where it meets flesh, it could cause an issue though.
Id be interested to hear an expert opinion on that.

Good luck with him. :)

Dang, I knew after I took these pix that his mouth wasn't all better like I thought. I still have meds I'm going to put on him now. Wonder how his little horn got like that. kids saw it when I got him home from the pet store but I didn't see a thing untill this pic. Glue huh? Love to get more feed back on the horn. If this has happen to others and what they did.

How long has he gone without treatment for his mouth?

What was said treatment?

Well, I see his horn as sort of similar to a cracked tooth.

Ive never heard of this issue (the horn being broken laterally) or any treatment for it.

It just seems that if it progressed, it could cause health problems(infection) and or sever duress to the animal.

It could have happened from shipping, or a fall. I think shipping would be more likely.

Infection in the horn could be an issue already.

Mind you, I have absolutely no experience with this at all, just hypothesizing here.

I realize thats not always helpful ;P but I would like to know from others, what if anything should be done about it.

Ok, I just read your other thread.

He definitely looks a lot better than he did!

How much medication do you have left?(how many days/doses) and exactly how long has it been since last administered?

He was on Muricin 2% 2 times a day for 10 days and Sunday was his last day. i think the problem was I got most of it on the outside of the lip and not the inside. Just took him out and he can bite hard but got it in the inside of his lip. he don't like it at all. I saw how the vet got him to open his mouth and I did it the same way and he bit down hard on that Q tip.

As usual, Snake's opinion on the horn cracking to the skin has merit. I think treating the crack on the horn with crazy glue and a toothpick. Just a little dot on both sides of the crack at the base is the priority. Then the top is next. As soon as you dab the crack, the glue will seep inside. They use super glue in wounds nowadays, so I would give it a shot. Maybe some of our vets can chime in for the real professional advice.

Do you think it will grow back together? Or will I have to do this from time to time? I need someone with good eyes as I can't even see the crack with my eyes.
