My brother holding Optimus...

Well I guess he isn't really holding him lol....

Colin was babysitting for me while I setup his new cage and took the branches out of his old one. Excuse Optimus' shed bed head, he wouldn't be happy with me knowing he didn't look his best in this photo :p

That's a chameleon for ya..........seeking out the highest point available from his current position..........LOL

How's come we never get to see any pics of YOU..........holding him ??? Enquiring minds............wanna know ;)

Today was actually the first day I held him since I bought him. I am scared of him and don't want to get bit. And I know how stupid that sounds because he hasn't acted aggressive to me at all, and I am afraid of the crickets too but I just love watching him and caring for him. He climbed on my head too today but we didn't get a picture. He was trying to grip on my hair lol. I'll take one maybe next week when he's comfortable.

When I was deciding between him and a veiled, I held the veiled first and it flipped out on my arm, puffed up and started hissing and I wasn't expecting it at all and I freaked out and was really scared. I think that made me really timid when being around Optimus. I kinda wish I didn't even mess with that snotty veiled. And that was my first ever experience with Chams besides my research

As long as you dont go over their head, most of the time panthers are pretty calm with being picked up. You should check the link on screameleons on how to handle a chameleon. Makes a lot of sense and its better to be cautious than get bit and possibly hurt your cham when he scares the crap out of you!

Yes the girl helped me learn how to handle them where I got him, said always move very slow and come from under. He's perfectly fine and nice but I just am very timid because I saw how that damn veiled acted and I just don't want to get bit and I don't know why I am so timid but I just am, but...it works out better for Opti that way anyways so he isn't really messed with, but he's very calm and and nice. Loves eating out of my hand.

He's already settled down for the night, I can't wait to watch him explore more tomorrow in the new 4x2x2 :) I have the day off work!

Well.........that makes sense to me. I don't wanna see you get bit either and after the experience with the veiled I can understand your reluctance. I was only teasing and I apologize. Just take your time and don't hurry because of me. I'll look forward to the picture...........WHENEVER.........you feel comfortable with having one taken.

Our little boy has gotten pretty territorial since his last shed himself. He's fine and dandy once I get him out of his cage, but I have resorted to using a stick to get him off his basking vine. He flipped out a couple weeks ago when I tried to bring him out for a little while and I don't want that happening again. I think it's a "puberty" thing with him right now and hopefully he will outgrow it. If he stays on his shedding schedule, he should shed again next week sometime and we'll see how he acts then.

Yeah Vince did a good video on handling at Screameleons.

LOL what is this?? week 4 or 5 ??? NOPE!!!!!

Dad does not know

....it's just about killing me too lololol....I want to show him my new canister filter on my 80 gallon tank but if I do then ...well the cat's out of the bag!!!

Well he doesn't go downstairs because it's just my brothers room, the guest room, and my room plus the family room & bathroom. There isn't a reason too unless he wants to talk to us and so far he hasn't needed to talk to me when I'm in my room.

He just started up with a new company, he's a superintendent for a construction company, and they just gave him a brand spankin new F150 work truck, a gas card and 20k more $$ a year so he's a bit preoccupied with his new job site with them.....so even if he does find him.....I am hoping he's just so much happier than building Targets for his old company that it won't matter. Plus my mom knows.....and she just recently bought 2 baby sulcata tortoises......LOL I saw some adults and DANG she's gonna need A LOT of lettuce.... A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just built a 4x2 box for them, for my mom's xmas gift.....let me run off and get a picture....I think it needs another coat of this amazing glitter martha stewart paint. Then I need to seal it and then it will sit until xmas for her.

edit: this is what I built with my brother and boyfriend. Ok ok ...I bought it...they built it....I painted it.....

dang he looks so good!!!! so why exactly are you hiding him from your dad? hahaha and i loveeeee baby turtles lets see pics of them too :)

Well we have a lot of animals, and I've constantly been sneaking in pets all my life. I told him my pet chinchillas were squirrels I was rehabilitating then releasing and he believed me..that was about 8 year ago......until they were with me over 6 months and he really took a look at what I had in my room....

The dogs now, all 3 are not from him wanting them. One I brought home, one my brother brought home, and the other is his father's that we didn't really have a choice to take. The parrot is my mom's, the 5 rabbits are mine which he is pissed at. The guinea pig is mine, the snake is my brothers, the horse is my moms, OK well....the dog my brother brought him is totally my dad's dog now, the rat terrier. And the 80 gallon fish tank is mine, the 20 gallon is my moms. And the 2 sulcata tortoises are my moms...I feel like I'm missing some pets......I mean I've had everything....grew up with an iguana, a mini horse, we have some cockatiels in an aviary in the backyard....uhmmm...tons of hamsters etc etc
