My baby veiled came today!

It was a rough morning that included me up every hour checking the tracking info only to get an email from UPS telling me the package arrived to them late and would be delivered in the next business day. After I had a good cry, I contacted UPS and as I was waiting for a response, the info updated and he was on the truck for delivery!

So he is here and he is beautiful and tiny! I think we had a good first start. We held him for a bit and he walked all over us and then we put him in his cage and let him be. He's been all sorts of colors and every time I leave him for a bit it takes me 15 min to find him again! I saw him drink off a leaf, and there is a superworm missing so I think he did eat. He also nibbled on the shefflera and spider plant, I hope it's okay. He settled in to sleep on the side of the cage where we have a fake plant on the outside so the bearded dragon doesn't see him. He's a light green color he looks happy. We were really expecting him to be mostly green but he's really showing his blues and yellows already.

Here's a few pictures.

I still find fascinating things about mine every week. Like she hates it when I wear black. She turns black and hides. I can wear blue and she will not worry.
She not a handler though but knows where her food is put into her cage and growing fast.

Enjoy that Cham. They all have their own personalities and secrets to learn.

I know how you feel. I hate it when a baby does not arrive as expected. It always feels great to see your cham for the first time. They are like a mystery, you never know what they are like until they have been with you a while. Most of my chameleons are T. quadricornis, but even so I have one that jumps on me as soon as I open her door, she would much rather be on me than in her cage, one that does everything he can to keep me from even seeing him, and the other are somewhere in between. But I love each one of them. Enjoy your baby, and remember we need pictures.:)

I haven't gotten many pictures which is killing me because I LOVE pictures. He doesn't really like me at the moment. I went to attach some mustard greens to the side of his cage and he crouched down into the magnetic planter. He's starting to come out now so I'll try to get some photos.

I wouldn't worry about pictures, I would give him a week to settle in. All I would do for that week is feed, water and do daily cleaning. Then slowly make friends with him. That will stress him a lot less.

We had success with feeding! We put about 12 very small crickets in his bowl and he snatched them up right away!

Congrats! How old is he? I ask, because you said he ate a superworm earlier - I would have thought they were too large for a baby.

He's 2 months, the superworm was extra small. We had our first poop today and he's been a bit more social, not always running away from us When we look at him.

Glad to hear that he's eating and pooping. :D Superworms come in all sizes. I use to order micro's for my tiny veiled babies. :) You should order him some Phoenix worms. My babies absolutely loved them.

He's getting ready for bed! This is where he slept last night.
