I need a lot of help someone? anyone? I'm new to this site and new to having a chameleon. I purchased a very young flap-necked chameleon two days ago, they had no clue how old he/she is, i have no idea if its a male or female, i have it in a mesh cage about 2ft tall and 1ft wide, i put a piece of driftwood with fake leafy vines wrapped all around it, i have a 100 watt uvb bulb, i mist him every hour, 2 hrs at most with tap water that i leave out for days in gallon jugs (same water i use for my ball python) ive been offering it crickets, wax worms, collard greens, and kale several times daily, i have a plastic water bottle sitting on top of the cage with a needle sized whole, it drips water on the leaves about 1 drop every 3 seconds, i spray zilla brand calcium supplement on its food,i dont know what im doing wrong but it will not eat and it has a lump in its left eye, i can't seem to find the info i need online, i know nothing about chameleons, someone please help any and all info regarding chameleons will be greatly appreciated but right now my biggest concern is its eye.thank you.btw am i posting in the right spot and correctly?

Please be specific on what type of uvb bulb you are using. Brand name, 5.0 10.0 etc. Not familiar with a 100 watt...

This is a link to a care sheet for your Cham. This care sheet covers several chams, so i really did give you a link to the correct sheet. If I knew more I would be happy to help.

I would go to the health section and title a post help with an eye problem. Then tell what kind of Cham, age and problem. That will most likely get more help for you.

zilla brand day blue light incandescent 100 watt bulb, i guess it not a uvb bulb? i dont know anything about this stuff i just went with what the pet store told me i needed, i wasnt prepared for him at all but after seeing several dead pets in there tanks at the store and seeing that all the fish tanks were so cloudy you couldnt see any fish, and seeing that most of the cute little critters had no form of water i had to get it! i couldnt imagine walking in there one day and seeing the little guy dead but now i dont know if im doing any better then they were

Here's what you need for lighting- you need to have your basking spot at least 8 inches away and you can buy light stands that go on your cage to help with doing so

You can also use this lighting which may be better since flapnecks are small an you don't want to bake the little guy- you can also use a basic house bulb that's not coiled for a basking spot

When you but crickets- put this in their tank along with lettuce, try to avoid kale it's high is oxolates and can block calcium absorption if your cham

I just got a pm from you.:) See you are doing just fine. I sent you my ph # so you can call with all the questions. For me the question seen to hit me about every 3 or 4 minutes when I am starting something new. Calcium spray and calcium are not the same at all. You will need three kinds of supplements. All are powdered, plain calcium, calcium with d3, and a multivitamin like Sticky tongue mineral-all. I use the indoor formula as my chams don't get out in the sun very much.
