My ambilobe panther chameleon missed reaching for his vine

So my juvenile male panther reached for his vine nd he kind of missed it nd fell it wasn’t a huge fall but i was still concerned since im a new chameleon owner.. he felled clipped the side of his terrarium tank now he has a small dark spot on side of his body… should I be concerned??? He is acting like he normally does nothing out of the ordinary after it happened… can anyone help..

Can you get some better pics of it? Bruising can happen but we also want to make sure there are no wounds to the surface. It is pretty rare for a young healthy cham to miss a branch and fall. You might consider posting some pics of your entire enclosure including the lighting on top so we can double check that it looks to be set up right for him. Then offer advice if corrections are needed. Making sure that your UVB lighting and supplements are on point would be a good idea as well.

It looks like a small bruise, but you cannot rule out other injuries. You will obviously want to keep a close eye on him

Yea I was actually just adding another vine for him to climb on nd also a hammock

no this is his first time falling I was adding a new vine to his enclosure maybe I had them placed too far apart for him to reach the vine possibly causing him to miss the vine

So hammocks are not recommended for chameleons as they do not walk flat footed. They have to have vines/branches only. Should you want to post pics we would be happy to help you with your set up for him.
