My ambanja panthers update! (pic heavy!)

Ok. Well I wouldnt know so Il leave it up to the breeders that have seen many panthers such as Todd and Tkilgour. My 9 month old panther is the sibling of that full grown red and turquoise male. That is not his father. If I can get a pic of the father Il post the pic. Right now I cannot call him an ambilobe even though everyone says he is because in S.A they are regarded as ambanja even though some turn out nothing like their siblings such as mine and Pauls, if I have to now tell people he is an ambilobe which they will probably believe because of the colours he has then they would want to buy his offspring and then breed them with ambilobes they might have in the future. So what locale is it safe to say he is? And what should I do?

As for saying what locale he is I would say he was sold to you as an Ambanja, but he appears to be a cross. Just be honest that is the best way.
He does appear to be a Nosy be x Ambilobe. Either way, he is a gorgeous chameleon.

I am no Tkilgour or Todd but if I had to guess I would call this a Nosy Belobe, or Ambilo Be... Looks to me a lot like what you get when you cross an Ambilobe with a Nosy Be like veildowner said.

lol ryan i dont think you haveta be a todd or a tkilgour to see that it looks like a nosalobie even i see it, the pic of the older one looks alot like one here in the states that i also think is a nosalobie, as for what to tell people he is?i def wouldnt call him 100% ambanja or 100% ambilobe...

Just thought I'd point out that the adult sibling has solid green bars, not red. The V-bar is solid green as are the rest of his bars.

Kent, what exactly is the significance of that? Also, if looked at closely, doesn't the adult sibling have a Y-bar and not a V-bar(alos not sure of the significance of that)?

Well he sure is a nice cham.

In S.A this is the most common bloodline going around, so if I tell people he is ambanja they will think of him looking like how he does. They have not seen the other blue ambanjas that have yellow faces, purple bars and red spots. No one has seen any other locale or bloodline other than this one. There is only a few breeders that will this year have true red and blue bar ambilobes aswell as 2 new ambanja bloodlines and tamataves.

People of S.A need to be educated about the reason of keeping bloodlines clean, I worry about the future of panthers because of the news of the new locales soon to come, I can see people breeding anything they want like tamatave X ambilobe or ambilobe X ambanja. I want to submit an article into the ultimate exotics magazine about it, but I dont know where to start about it!
