My 3 gravid female veilds

I'm trying to track the progress of my gravid veilds. I know the dates of insemination for two of them, however the one with infertile eggs - well, who knows. There are buckets for laying in all 3 cages. I am surprised that each of them have their own gravid colors, not at all like either of the others. Enjoy

You've got three nice happy looking females. I especially like Lucy and those amber bars that she's showing. How long have they been gravid? Just watch for them to loose their appetite. Wheres the lucky guy at Naomi?

This is Arnold, the lucky father. Lucy mated on the 16th and Desi on the 22nd. Desi didn't get her dark color right away, it took a couple days before she turned dark. Of the 3, I think Ethel is the farthest along. She is the one that was not mated. She had MBD when she came to me and although she is now strong and sassy, I didn't want to stress her bones. She is just going to be a pet.

They have already decreased their appetites. I put their crickets in a beer cup and offer the cup to them. Lucy especially would go crazy. She would climb into the cup and eat the crickets 2 at a time. They now just want to hunt the crickets at their leisure and aren't so outrageous in their eating habits. They all get 1 super a day and they enjoy that with gusto.

Boy I hope not. I kept their feeding to 5 crickets a day and the temps are cooler. I hope this will keep the 2 fertile clutches to a minimum. I guess I don't care with the unfertile clutch, other then it stresses the mother's system.

Oh, I remember seeing Arnold before, as he is in your avatar :D They still have some time yet. I like to provide my females with PLENTY of calcium while they are gravid to ensure all the eggs are nice and calcified. Since supers don't have the best calcium phosphorus ratio, I'd make sure to dust them all with calcium :)
Very exciting I wish you/them the best of luck.
