I'm no expert. But I guess your best option would be to invest in a mister if you're having that much trouble. That, or move to Florida. The humidity in my room is at 78%!

EDIT: It seems you were guessing the humidity based by how it felt on your skin? Do you have a proper hygrometer?

Live plants.

Live plants.

Live plants.

Yes, get a proper digital hygrometer, that way you KNOW. You have to KNOW things to keep chameleons...

Do not try and use a damp substrate to create humidity. It wont work well, and will cause a cleaning nightmare.

Look at these enclosures:

Get a small ficus or pothos plant to hang/sit in the cage. Preferably a tall one that goes through the middle as I see you have some space there. They help a lot.

Ok il invest what live plants are safe? As i was told on here to get a ficus robusta and then told it was poisoness

Your best option may be to invest in some nice Cham friendly live plants to put in your viv. They tend to naturally bring up the humidity. Get some good gauges at any pet store. Proper gauges will help create ideal climate control. Is there a decent drainage area on the bottom of the cage?..im not familiar with that type.

Ok i know your point on it being messy my local reptile store have asked for measumeants of the inside so that they will make me a glass tray to seal inside at the bottom to use for this moss stuff or shall i just scrap the idea?

Scrap it.

What you want is potted plants, and drainage holes in the bottom of the enclosure, that drains into a tub underneath.

This is cheaper in the long term, the short term, and much easier to manage. It will also provide a much more desirable result.

Your pet shop just wants to sell you things. ;)

I'd scrap that honestly. The chameleon would appreciate lives plants anyways, just make sure to get a non toxic one (from the list provided) and you're good to go. Also, your first priority should be getting a proper digital hygrometer. The humidity inside the enclosure could be perfectly fine and you might not even know it.

What species of chameleon do you have? As long as it's not a montane species like a jacksons I believe you should be fine with moderate RH. (50%)

Ok i will get 2 potted plants tommorow thanks man oh an if you can post a link to a safe plant list will be apreciated thanks again.

Ok thanks and hes a cross between sambava/ rustic red and ambolibe. Oh was it got so many posts didant see it

U have to humidify the room. U need two components. Absolutely necessary. A ultrasonic humidifier and. A fan. U need both. A magnetic vent deflector can deflect air conditioning from his area. Watch for drafts. High humidity will wreck electronics. Remember u have to have the humidifier and the fan.
