Moving my Veiled Chameleon....

Okay so I am moving back in with my parents because I am going to school in the fall and I am definitely bringing my Chameleon with me along with some of my other guys. How should I transport her? It is about an hour car ride maybe a little shorter. Her enclosure is pretty big and it would be a pain in my ass to move in my car just because of the height. Should I keep her in a smaller enclosure for just the ride or I have a tote to put her in for the car ride. I have her cage that she has about a month ago that isn't very big because she was tiny. What do you guys think?

Thank you

When I bring my chameleon home for the long weekend I put her in a smaller cage with some branches that she can climb on and usually cover her with a towel so she just sleeps the whole way. I find timing it so that when you get to your destination you can either put her basking bulb on for the morning or put her to bed that way she seems less stressed. I made the mistake the first time by putting her in a box and then trying to get her out after she had been sleeping. She was not a happy camper! Otherwise though everything should be fine.

The small cage should work fine.

Thank you both of you, I will just use the smaller cage and do that, I am also transporting a bearded dragon, and 4 Leopard Geckos so those guys I have already moved and got that on lock, Thank you all though!

Sorry late to the convo...

Similar ride length from the place I got him from. The way I got him home was we put him in a small paper bag. The darkness I guess you can say is more calming. When he came out of the bag when we got home, he was some of the most beautiful colors I've ever seen him!... Maybe that was pissy colors but I don't know lol. But from what the store told me (I trust them with my cham's life any day), the bag is calming and is the least stressful way to do it. JMO
