My Cham is movign alot this morning going uop and down to new places I don't know if she needs to lay eggs but she is not puffy from her abdomen but she looks fat from the bottom a little bit and she is not eating as usual not her usual appetite. I want to get her sand but Just in case but I don't know what kind to get her or shall I just get potting soil? help me fyi she has never mated

How old is she?
She will produce eggs even if she isn’t mated.
Just get a bag of plays and from Home Depot and put it in a bin apron 12x12x12. Add water to the sand until it it evenly moist and starts to stick together. It doesn’t take much.

You need to post pics and fill out the how to ask for help form. The link is in my signature. Paste your answers here when your done.

No potting soil.

I am frustrated. I got everything ready for her and she is not getting close to the bin she is wondering over the apartment but she is not getting down to the bin I set up for her, I just covered the side of the bin I thought maybe she is shy and put her there she just crawled up again I will give her more time maybe she will come down and start digging after I covered the bin from the side

Thank you , I moved the other chameleon to another room and I left the house I hope she will go and dig her hole and settle while Im gone

I went and asked they said they don't have it!
What is the different between this and top soil as far as I know chameleons natural environment isnt sandy

I changed her bin gave her more privacy and built higher walls so she won't get out , but she is not even trying to dig, I am not watching her I am away but today when I got from work I don't know how she was able to get out and no sign on digging, am I wrong is she not due yet for laying eggs??so confused about her

Its summertime. Any hardware, box store or home improvement store will have play sand. People on here are trying to help you and you don't take there advice, just make excuses. Top soil compacts easily and the chameleon can't dig in there. In the natural environment the ground is like mulch because of rotting leaves, plants, bugs, worms, rain, erosion and many other reasons. They don't have straight up top soil. If you don't get something other than top soil she will most likely get egg bound and die. The chameleon has to work very hard to lay her eggs and its your job to make it as easy as possible for her to do so.

I don't know this for fact, but am almost sure that most Panthers come from areas with a sandy/dirt-ish soil. They aren't from the lush rainforests like we imagine.
