Mouth rot?

These aren’t the best pictures but I noticed the top of his mouth is very dry and peeling. I’ve done some research and everything is saying it’s mouth rot and that I can use Betadine or Reptiaid to get rid of it. Any help?

I’ve never dealt with mouth rot, but I’m pretty sure it would be best to have him seen by a vet. He most likely will need antibiotics. I’d also think that any infection would need to be cleaned out and dead tissue removed to better promote healing.

Chameleon Info:

• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?

• Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
• Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
• Location - Where are you geographically located?
