Mouth Open, tongue out

Our 4 month old veiled chameleon has been drinking a lot in the last couple of hours and now has his mouth open and tongue out. Could he be sick?

We have a Jackson chameleon it does that when it's hungry or thirsty.That might be the problem.Just be confident!

That is not normal behavior and is cause for concern. Is the tongue all the way out? If it is, you have to keep it wet or it will dry out and basically die. the other member stated their chameleon does that when it is hungry or thirsty...I am not sure what he means by this. They do not keep their tongues out of their mouth at any time, but to eat and drink and that is just for a second or two..
