Chameleons Canada

Avid Member
After a wait of 9 years, finally I was able to find these in Canadian soil. WC, but doing so far, so good. I got 2.2 (I couldn't get shots of the other pair but will do soon). The females look gravid, so I hope to have some news soon.

Congrats! That female sure does look gravid! Best of luck with them, I'm sure you'll really dig this species.

Thanks Kent,

Among all species this is my personal fav. I worked with them about 10 years ago (before I moved to Canada) and bred them and sustained a small colony succesfully. After the move I had to sell them all with the hope of finding them again here. It didn't happened until now. When my good friend Harry (chroma chameleons) told me they had them at the Canadian reptile show, I thought he was kiddin' and when I saw them I was like a child in Disneyland! :)

OH, I see! I didn't realize you'd had them before from the first post. Now I can really see how bad the wait must've been! :) They really are a rewarding, majestic species.

Quads eggs!!!

Hi Guys,

Wanted to share, yesterday I put a picture of one of my females, and she really looked gravid, well today she laid 8 eggs! If you could see the size of those eggs, you would understand why they have just a few, they are huge compared to panther's eggs! Here is a pic for you. Let the wait begin! :)

As a breeder and willing to establish a small colony again, you could figure out how important these eggs are coming from a WC female. The female has been with me less than a week, she drank a lot of water and ate like a horse, I bet she could have eaten more, but I don't want to give her a tummy ache.

Did you get them last weekend at the CRBE?

You must have gotten to that guy before I did... I checked every single one he had for gravid females. :p

More Quads

Here are a few that I bought from the same guy on the Saturday as soon as found out they were there. These two fems are gravid as well. Sorry some pics are a little blurry.

Chameleoholic and/or Drew,

Did either of you pick up any of his montium, cristatus or wiedersheimi?

Congrats on getting quads again. I have my first pair and my wc female laid eggs last month. I am way excited. We can wait together but I bet mune hatch first!! Good looking chameleons you have.

Congratulations guys! I hope you'll be able to somewhat establish this beautiful species in Canada.

Do you guys remember the name of the person/people that sold you the Quadricornis? Did the seller have any other species from Cameroon?

Adam

I can't remember the name of the guy, but quite frankly after I saw how he had them at the show I really doubt there are any still alive. He had montiums, cristatus and wiedersheimi. Prices were very cheap! The problem was that from 20 he had, 5 were ok. So I had to really look and look for the most "descent" ones.

I wish I bought more, at least 2.2 of each species, but space is limited for me right now, and I amw aiting for a shipment of chameleons soon, so I had to stick to 2.2 quads.

Hi Adam,

I saw your post just before speaking with him again yesterday. I asked him if he would be interested in shipping, and he indicated that he would, if you were going to be buying chams in bulk (he quoted 12 or more).

Anyway, he has buttloads of montium left, 2 quad males, a few quad females, some cristatus, and both subspp of wiedersheimi.
