More secretive prior to shed?

Evening All,

My new juvenile Panther (3.5 mo) has been settling in well over the past week. He has been eating well of a varied diet of crickets, silkworms, and dubias, spent the weekend outside, and in general appears to be doing great.

As of Monday afternoon, he seems a bit more timid than he has earlier in the week. Still eats and drinks well and such, but seems to hang out more in the foliage. Color is a nice light green, almost a translucent look to it.

I am guessing he is getting ready to shed, but I am curious if any have experience with their lil guys becoming a bit more shy prior to shed. Also, once they start, how long does it take them to complete the process.

Thanks,

My Panther usually gets his old skin off in a day and a half. And yes, the shed becomes his main focus. Sometimes he doesn't even eat the first day of it.

Totally normal for them to be reclusive before and during shed. It may be discomforting for them, and they just want to be left alone.
