hello i have a few more questions on my relatively new chameleon. not sureo n age but he is pretty small, maybe 6 inches from head to tail, still all green, and was purchased a month ago as a juvinile (im guessing ~6-8 months)
for starters, my damn cat broke my chameleons light fixture yesterday so i got a new basking lamp the same as the old one and a new uvb light. before he was fine but now he seems to be hiding all day and is very dark. the light i have now is a 5.0 26w reptiglo compact. the last one he had was smaller and not as bright and he was happy with it. could he be hiding because of this new light?
also, is it safe to handle him about once a week? he gets stressed when i get him out, i know how to pick him up and if he runs i leave him, and when he is out he seems very comfortable but distracted by all the stuff around him. i like taking him out to hand feed him and give him some room to run around and get comfortable with me. (and because i like him) is this a problem?
