More of George!

It has been a while since I last made a George thread, so I decided today was the day.

Here are some photos from today. He joined me for an hour while I was doing some computer stuff (Artwork). A very blurry picture of him on my hand for size ref, he isn't growing as fast anymore and his appetite is dying down, he's about as chilled as can be. Think he misses the outdoors though.

I've also noticed he has an odd shaped "Casque" (If you can call it that on a Panther). When I browse photos here I notice Panthers usually have quite a flat head, but he has a really rounded and tall headdress. I was worried he was underweight for a while but it just seems to be the shape, the actual pads themselves are nice and rounded.

EDIT: Resized photos

He looks great! The chubby head pads just mean that he's eating well, perhaps even too well! :) It's fine though, nothing to worry about.

Do you know what locale he is? The roundedness of the head "casque" itself might indicate Ambanja in him, I believe.

Definitely sold as a blue bar Ambilobe, but I haven't seen his parents. I hear the breeder is highly regarded in this area for being one of the best in the country though. I should have requested some pictures of the sire really, but no matter. I love his odd casque though.

In terms of age, it's still a rough estimate as there was confusion between his age and the puppy we bought around the same time, but I'd say 7 months now. I recall him being 3 months on purchase and the puppy 7 weeks, which would make sense, but it's all a blur now. He was quite small when I got him, there should be some photos in my album, and I'm pretty much going off size these days.

He may just have had chubby head pads for a long time and perhaps the casque just adapted the shape to compensate. It's a possibility I would think! His colors are definitely ambilobe, and he looks really nice anyway. And he's still got plenty of time to blow you away, he will probably keep changing for another 7-8 months.

That's what I think too. There was a point where his head casque looked quite flat and normal, but overtime it became quite a prominent feature on his head. Maybe I fed him too much, but he seemed quite happy with that. He definitely has some growing to do, I visited the place I got him from and the adult they have there is quite a giant (6 years old, looks healthy as can be). Rare that you hear of a pet store that actually knows how to care for their Chameleons.

He used to shed once every week or two, he now sheds once every three or four. He also used to poop once a day which is now once (A large one) every three or four. I'm actually quite relieved as he used to eat like a monster and it became quite difficult to order in his food as he would finish the old ones off very quickly and I was constantly racing backwards and forwards to pet stores. He was definitely overweight at one point when I fed him primarily on Silkworms but I've switched to Locusts recently as his staple and it definitely helped him lose some weight, and provides somewhat more of a hunting experience.
