Thanks everyone! These two clutches are hatching early...at 8 and 9 months. I would prefer they took longer, but everyone seems very healthy so far.![]()
I was thinking that...these are the smallest baby carpets I've ever hatched...the CH'd ones I mean, not the CB's. The CB's are much larger out of the egg than the CH'd...it always seems to be that way. I'll try to get some pics either tomorrow or Tues. next to a penny!
Forget diapause! Everything I wrote in the E-Zine article still applies to my husbandry except for diapause. There's definitely something to it, and others may have success with it, but I think there is no question that the best way to incubate lat eggs is 68-70F until they hatch-period. Whether it takes 8 months or 18 months, just let them hatch when they're ready. And yes, I've had them take 18 months to hatch! Just part of the fun. The mother of some of these babies took 13 or 14 months I believe.
