Montium Questions

I am getting a pair of Trioceros Montium in this week and I'm working on putting an enclosure together right now. I have searched for posts and such on the species here, but I didn't find a whole lot of first hand accounts from fellow keepers. The female will also be gravid so I will need some info on that as well. Can some of the experienced keepers of this species throw me some tips on how you are keeping yours and what has worked for you? This will be the first time I have kept this particular species so I'll take any info you have.

thanks

Justin,

Since writing the article LPR linked you to, I have also had success keeping and raising this species in fully planted Exo-Terra Glass Terrariums like those seen here:

I also posted some photos of my montium when I was raising my last clutch in this thread:

If you have any particular questions having read that article and looked at those threads, let me know.

Thanks Chris, thanks for those links, I have read those as well along with several of your posts concernig the montane species lol  Okay, so this pair will be a fresh wild caught, and the female is said to be gravid. I just need to know what has been the most successful way to house these guys, clear up confusion about what the humidity should REALLY be, and just any little things that come to mind about this species that is specific to them. The only other montane species I have kept has been the Jacksonii, and that didn't seem to be much of a challenge, but from what I have read everywhere this species can be super challenging. I appreciate the help, I just don't want to get these guys in and leave out something crucial to their survival, or something that will jeopardize the development of the eggs.

I personally like keeping them in fully planted glass terrariums the best as I was able to simultaneously maintain humidity and airflow better than in screen enclosures. You just need to be careful to provide good drainage, not to over mist and make sure the enclosure doesn't stay too wet. In these enclosures I only mist once a day for about a minute to a minute and a half. In all screen enclosures, I had a mist system run twice a day for 20 minutes each time.
