Mold in plant soil...

I recently acquired a Jackson's chameleon. I know they are a montane species and require more water than my other chams, so I've been misting her a little extra. I still don't feel like it's overkill though; I usually only mist her 4 times a day (3 for my other chams). I make sure I soak her tree really well, but I still make a point to try to let the cage mostly dry out before I mist again. But I just noticed that there is white fuzzy stuff growing from the soil of her plant. Anybody else have this issue? What should I do? Is the mold going to hurt the cham? (I assume yes, but I was told that mold wouldn't hurt my dart frogs so just figured I'd ask about the cham in case I'm worrying for no reason.)

She is in a screen cage, just to clarify. Her tree is a ficus and I have some fake foliage and vines in there as well.

Did it look like dense spider web?
I had this happen in my jacksons small cage.
After searching forever, I finally came across some info on a dart frog board.
They said it was normal, and from the decaying wood in the enclosure.
The way they explained it, is that it is harmless, and would eventually thin out, or go away completely.
I opted to just remove the dead wood, and it never came back.
I dont remember what they called it though...
