I recently got a tree frog and was wondering if it was ok to put them in the same enclosure. The frog I'd say is about 1 1/2 inches.

I wouldn't too many things could go wrong. Stress could be the least of your worries.

No, separate cages are needed. There are lots of past threads on this and similar topics about trying cohabiting. The folks who claim it works, they have all alerts of species living together, and they "never have a problem" tend to disappear from the forum after awhile...
