mitsio eating strange

i noticed my boy hasnt been using his tongue much there is nothing wrong with his appitie he seems tottaly healthy its like hi toungue is lazy he leans into his prey instead of shooting it and when he does shoot it it takes off upwards any ideas what could be wrong

Are you hand feeding, cup feeding, or free ranging the bugs?

i'm trying to picture what the chameleons tongue is doing.."takes off upwards...". you should really fill out the chameleon info so we understand everything that is going on. being in a cage, chameleons tend to get lazy with their tongues and wont shoot as far or barely at all. how are you feeding him?? whats the size of his cage? do you let the feeders roam or sit in a dish??

and what do you plan on supplementing him with now?

Kink had a tongue aiming issue several months ago, he didnt always hit the bug. when i switched him to repashy, he did got better. and uses his tongue alot more.


how are you feeding him?

he was in a small cage 16x16x24 at the pet store here at home he is in a 24x24x36 freerange feeding but he has problems so i have been putting supers in a dish at the bottom of his tank i suppliment with reptivite with d 3 twice a month and reptical without d3 everyday

ok. I would allow his bugs to free roam the cage.

and i would switch to crickets.


I also, and this is JMO,
would get repashy.

I found that once i started using that, Kinks tongue problems, went away after about a month.

hes a year and a half old basking spot 88 gradiant mid 70s pothos and fake vines no substrate. should i maybe cup feed till his supplement intake gets up a little i dont think they suppliment at the store i got him from but they only had him a week aswell i bought him as soon as i saw he was a mitsio
