I have spotted a few mites in the mealworm container, should i get rid of the container and worms? How can i prevent the mites from getting to the chameleon?

Howdy,

If you've spotted a few mites then there are a few million ready to emerge. It's best if you start another fresh, clean batch separate from the contaminated ones. Don't cross-mix any of them or the bedding. Place the contaminated container on a plate of soapy water and continue to use them up. Try baking the new bedding at 200F for 30 minutes before using it with the new batch of mealworms. You can try moving the contaminted mealworms to their own new bedding but still use the water and plate because sooner or later... The soapy water and plate is a good idea for the new batch too.
