MistKing

is this for your panther? just mist three times during the day for a good amount of time each session and then let things dry out at night. you won't need mist at night.... it isn't a bad idea to have maybe one mist in the middle of the night for a very short burst but... not really needed. you want the cage and plant to dry out so you don't get stuff growing....

I usually mist mine for approx 10-15 min ,depending on the cham, or until they stop drinking. Just try not to do it 2 hours before lites out so things get dried.

my panthers and veileds get a decent amount of water... they get a nice looong shower in the morning and then mid afternoon with one or two in the middle for just a couple of minutes. they drink mostly when the water is floooowing.

the long showers are 20 minutes

Another MistKing question

I finally got one and it is awesome. I have two questions.

1. How many times per day and how long I should mist my Jackson cham?

2. I got the ultimate version of mistking and it came with the timer. I configured the Date and Time, programmed ON/OFF times and set it to AUTO mode. However it does start the pump when the programmed ON time is hit. If I switch it to ON setting manually during the programmed interval and then switch it to AUTO mode the pump will stop when the programmed OFF time is hit. (I hope it makes sense). Am I doing something wrong?

In the morning I run the misters for 10 mins at 5:40 after the lights turn on at 5:30. Then three hours later it turns on for 3 mins at 8:40 and at 11 it runs for 3 mins, last but not least at 5pm it runs for 3 mins.

misting really depends on the species and how humid your cage is. If you have a montain species cham it is a good idea to 'freshen up' the humidity throughout the day. Misting for a minute or 30 seconds once and hour when you are having dry conditions.

I run the misters on my Melleri for a 30 minute shower about an hour after lights come on. then I think (been a while since i looked at the times) I have small bursts of mist for say 1-3 minutes once or twice in the morning. I then have a longer mid day mist and then some more 1-3 minute mists later in the afternoon and then I do a long 30 minute mist a couple of hours before lights out. This is because these guys need good amounts of water. They don't seem to mind... urates are white so.. it works out.

The veileds and panthers get a 20 minute morning mist with maybe two supplemental mid day mistings lasting 5 minutes and then another 20 minute shower a couple of hours before lights out.
