Mistking vs Aquazamp pump

Which has a better pump as far as power and noise? I know Mistking has 3 different pump sizes and aquazamp only one, where would the AZ pump fall within the Mistkings 3 power levels?

Personally having both I would say Aquazamp is a better pump. The Aquazamp pump falls in between the mid and high level I believe but Kevin could answer that for sure. Aquazamp also has a HD pump for those of us that are running 20-40 nozzles. It is my personal opinion having experience with both that the AZ is of superior quality.

Thank a bunch, this is exactly the type of answer I was looking for. Looks like it will be the AZ for me. I heard Mistking makes better nozzles, do you think I should order one from them? I also heard the same about the mostking timers. Also, how noisy is your AZ pump, because if it is, I'll run a line to the next room or a closet or something.

I do like the MK nozzles better, but not by much. I LOVE the two nozzle low profile raindomes that Aquazamp makes. More than half of my cages have raindomes on them now. Montane and WC animals all get raindomes. I don't think either pump is all that noisy it's the sprayers and the shaking of the tubing that is noisy. The pumps are pretty quiet.

I would get the raindome but there's not much room on the top of my cage. Anyway, do you know If the Mistking nozzles can mount on the AZ mounting wedge? And it is the same tubing right? Also, do you have a preference for timers?

Nozzles are interchangeable between the brands as is the tubing. Wedges I don't believe to be interchangeable. As far as timers the AZ one is far better than the MK. I have had a number of MK times go out on me, which causes a great deal of stress to me and the chams:mad:

Could you elaborate on why you like the Mistking nozzles better? Just wondering because it will be $30+ for just a deluxe nozzle and mounting wedge, but I don't want to mount the AZ nozzle and wedge to my cage w/ holes in the screen and frame, and then decide the AZ nozzle is crap and I need a MK nozzle.

They both work, neither nozzle is crap. I just like how the MK one articulates better. If you ask Marty he will say that almost no one buys the premium nozzles, I like them but usually go with the Value line. The AZ ones are very similar to the value line of MK I think they just have one more articulation to them, but really not a huge deal.

Alright then, maybe Ill try out the AZ one first. If I decide to change to a MK nozzle, will there be any issues crossing over with the cage?

I don't think there would be a problem. It seems to me, and it's been a little while, that the AZ part that goes through the cage is larger than the MK, in diameter. With a new plate I don't think you would have a problem switching to the MK. I have cages set up with both and to be totally honest I would have to really look to tell the difference. I remember liking the MK ones better on install but once installed both function exactly the same, I couldn't tell you which cage had which at this point.

I actually prefer the Aquazamp nozzles over the Mist King. I think the Mist Kings move too much and too easily when the chameleons climb up against them. I was constantly having water on the floor because they would push the nozzles and point them toward the screen. Spray-wise, they are about the same.

Nice thing about aquazamp is he responds fast to any questions or concerns you have and he is in America so shipping from him is cheaper than from Canada.
