Misting...??

Hi again! Can I check out misting with you all please and how you all go about it. I mist for approx 1 min first thing when lights go on. Then I leave a dripper on for approx 1 hour. I have tried my best to set up so that it drips into leaves and then drip into the live plant. I also mist for approx 1 min around 2-4 more times and also let the dripper go again mid afternoon.

I then seem to spend time with LOADS of paper kitchen towel mopping up the water logged bottom of the viv  The plants and side all dry out but the viv bottom never does. Even the plants are begging for no more water!!!

Humidity around 60-80. I want to eventually get a custom built walnut viv but thankfully at the moment its a glass one or we would all be flooded!! As for an actual mister - well I fear I would be getting wellies for the dog!

How do you all get around this problem or have I really got it soooo wrong?!!

Thanks again
Oh... and another poop today - Yayyyy!

All that water needs to be drained out. What I did with my cage on a plain table is that I set it on a plastic sheet, when it was on the sheet, 3 sides of the cage were covered, and the draining end is folded so the water lands directly where I put the drain bucket. There's really no need for paper towels, drainage is easier ;):)

Thanks. I dont leave paper towels in there - just mop up excess water twice a day. Just seems mad to put all this water in to then take out!! Although I know water can't remain standing in there. I have a glass Viv with mesh top so not sure best way for drainage. As fast as I think the dripper is set to be caught in a ant and pot he walk on a branch/leaf and it changes lol!

Be interested in ways around this :-/!

Some people use hydro balls or something like that. I'm not sure how it works, but many people have them for pygmy terrariums and terrariums in general.
