Misting!!

I have an 8 month old ambilobe in in a 48" x 24" x 24" cage. I have a mist king set up with one nozzle. I'm wondering how much/little I can mist him. I have a timer that can go off for any amount of time for up to 8 times a day. I had it really cranked up but tons of water was coming off the bottom. I turned it down recently. his feces still has a really white part and his eyes aren't looking sunken. Any tips?

Also i have a 3 foot umbrella that hold some moisture.

Hello!
Welcome to Chameleon Forums!

Everyone's situation is different, so no one schedule can be recommended.

Most like to do a longer mist in the morning, giving them time to hydrate up, and wet their tongue for food. Then another around halfway through the day, and one later in the day. Other sessions can be done in between to keep humidity up. You want the cage to dry out in between the sessions though, thats the main thing to keep in mind. You also dont want things wet when the lights go off, you want it to be dry at night. Not drying out the cage in between can cause mold issues. Having it wet at night can cause illness.

Thanks solid snake! All good things to keep in mind. Its been drying no problem. The soil of my umbrella is damp always though. But i can't think of any way to solve that.

And @ BriAlme, i just have my cage on an angle with an eavestrough but it's not always an exact science. The weight of the plant sort of affects the the slope. I don't want to over angle it. but it works more or less

Right now i'm doing 1 minute 4 times and 4 at 30 seconds
What do you think?
