well im to the point were im misting four times a day for like 2 mins each....i think a misting system would be a good bonus......i will tranfer my panther in to his2 by 2 by 4 cage in a month...hes 4 and a half months....male.

So here we go

how do they work...
will they work for that cage, don by lllreptile.com
how much are they....

links would help...thanks a million

I use a mist king mister, i love it. www.mistking.com I have a feeling everyone one here will steer you to making your own or buying a herp mist mister. www.herpmist.com

Either way mist king or herp mist seem to be about equal as far as i can tell. Im not sure what kind of timer herp mist offers, but the one from mist king is awesome.

I think this would work on your cage you are going to need to find a way to collect water. (dont know what cage your getting). Misting systems are worth the money. They do go through some water, i have mine run for a total of 35 mins a day. In that time it will go through about a gallon.

Not sure on the herp mist but mist king parts all snap together without tools. Had mine together in about 30 to 45 mins if that.

Hope this helps:)

Mistking all the way baby!

Jason fell off the face of the earth and isn't getting back to anyone.

I recently delt with Mistking and Marty is on the ball!

I made my own misting system, but I plan to buy my parts from Marty now.

As for the drainage.. there are all kinds of ways to drain the water. Do some searching on the forum. there are a TON of misting threads.

You can also check out the misting DIY thread I made. The link is in my Sig.

Edit: I meant to bring up some point ins Vince's post.

There aren't tools needed for these systems except making the hole in the resivoir. The systems are pretty much the same. But, the difference is, who calls you back right now.

I got a chance to play with the Mistking system components in a project I have been working on with a forum member. The one thing I really liked about Marty's nozzles is that it takes up less space in the cage because he has eliminated the need for some parts to do the same job a HerpMist nozzle will do. I will post some pics later...;)

Oh yeah forgot about the reservoir. You will have to drill a hole for that. Anyway, MIST KING will solve all of your misting problems.:) The system will give you a lot more freedom, not having to be around and mist all the time is great.:D

Mist King

Mist King here. Marty will help you with anything you need. I had a pump quit on me for no apparent reason. I called up Marty and he sent me a new one the very next day. Best of the best in my opinion. Very professional looking systems too.

as for dranage i was gonnabuy a shamwow and replace it daily....is this good enough for 4 10 minute mistings a day

pics would be great

Drainage

You could build a rack that your cages will sit on. Have the back a little taller than the front so that the cages will slope to the front. Then attach a trough that slopes one way, put a bucket at the end, and there you go. Just be sure to empty the bucket often. You may get a little poop run-off and that doesn't smell the nicest after a while.

Also, a little off topic, LLL has some new aluminum screened cages out. Has anyone on here purchased one of these? How are they? They seem to have the same concept from the looks of it.

Im not sure but in the picture it looks like the cage has a PVC bottom? If this is the case you could get creative and drill a hole for a drain. I can post pics of one i made up for my cage tomorrow.

As for the sham wow, good product we bought a bunch. On the other hand i wouldnt use it. Its going to get dirty, stink, and possibly harvest bacteria. I used paper towel in a exo tara cage for a while. What a pain in the a#@. It had a glass bottom so i really couldn't drill a hole in it.

But the sham wow will be great for wiping the bottom clean every other day every day what ever is best for you. :D

what would you recomend as proper draining?

heres the cgae inside will be a pothos or two a umbrella tree and a ficus, pus several yards of vine...http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog...een/-/24-x-24-x-48-inch-aluminum-screen-cage/

I like that system, good idea.

I didn't :) I tried dumping the water other ways, but there just wasn't any better way than with a solenoid valve. It's instant and 100% reliable and reproducible. I'll make some videos of this system...it's kick ass.

Anyone going to the Mississagua show Feb 22 can play with the new system. I'll have a display tank with miniature orchids set up.

okay so ill drill a small hooe in the bottom thanks....and marty do u still have those standered misting systems.....its only for ONE 24 by 24 by 48 screen cage.

Any value nozzles purchased now will come with extra black collets so you can convert them to black. IMO very sexi :)
