I will not be using my mistkint for about 4-5months & do not want any bacteria to grow in the lines. Is this a problem I need to worry about, have always used distilled water in mistking. Is there a cleaning process I should follow?? Has anyone else been in this situation? any coments welcome

There really isn't much you have to do, esp if you've been using distilled water. Empty the lines of water, empty the pump of water and let it dry out for a few days. Don't store it in plastic bags. Put it in a cardboard box and you'll be OK.

Do a lot of people use nothing but distilled water? Isn't that a pretty big cost if you are putting a lot of water through your cage?

look into a reverse osmosis system, or some sort of walter filtration you can put into a feed line into your water resevoir. I use regular tap water, always have, and have no complaints and havent from them chams. They all love their showers once the get over the mister scaring them lol

Haha your post made me giggle. XD Mine made the mistake of sitting on her vine right next to the auto mister nozzle. I was watching her like 'oh no...' she did get shot by a nice bit of water and actually seemed to have a worried look on her face XD she won't go back up on that part of the vine yet.

Thanks Marty I love your system it is great! My Cham had to be put to sleep last week & I won't be getting another one until April or May wanted to make sure nothing had to be done to system.
