I have a Mist King mister with one nozzle. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and it works GREAT. Way better then the garbage Habba Spit.. I mean habba mist lol.

Anyways i was wondering how long to mist for, and how often? I have a 65 gallon for my 6 month old panther. Right now i am misting every 3 hours for 45 seconds, with the last misting of the day going for 1 minute. Is this enough or too much misting for this cage? The humidity is 45-50% at the top of the cage and 70% near the bottom. I have noticed that he is eating plants also does this mean its not enough water?

Also when i move to my 175 gallon should i be misting any longer? or more often? I will have a drip tray for the 175 gallon but dont have one for the 65 gallon

Rule of thumb is to mist until there are drops of water over everything, its the droplets of water that will trigger the drink response.. Some chams just eat leaves, try making sure if this is the case that you keep really good safe plants in there and you could even try as there was a post about this awesome idea, of putting bird seed or lettuce seeds, in the pots of your plants and letting the plants grow up through the rocks.. Giving him a literal gutload OUTSIDE of feeders.... They best way to monitor for dehydration is in his urates and eyes... If his eyes are sunken in, he is most likely dehydrated, if his urates are more yellow or orange than white, he DEFINITELY is dehydrated...
