Misting Dilemma

I have a medium exo terra cage set up with 4, 3 month old jackson chameleons.

The dilemma is i have to leave town for a day. If i mist them before i leave real good today they would be fine for the day. But tomorrow they will be dry before ill be back. They wouldn't be dry for more than a few hours.(2-3 hours).

Is this going to be life threatening to them or bad for there health in anyway?

I would get a friend or neighbor to mist them for you. Jann

not sure if i trust my neighbors and most my friends work full time jobs. This is why i was wondering if they would be fine for a few hours.

It should be fine. Just do a real heavy misting before you leave, and as soon as you get back.

cool thanks a lot. I thought they should be fine if i did just that. There has to be times in the wild where they go through a little dry time.

A nice plant and a drip system may also help to keep them hydrated for a while.

this set up that I had would last for about 24 hours fully filled and tuned to 1 drop every 3 sec.

I had this problem once before I had a reliable pet-sitter.
I froze a solid block of ice in a plastic container. I transferred the block of ice to another container of almost the same size but which had a small pin hole in the bottom. I misted and drip watered heavily before I left, then I suspended the container with the ice block over the cage, such that as the ice melted it dripped into yet another container. This second container also had a small pin hole, and from there the water slowly dripped into the cage. The purpose of the second container was to give the water a chance to somewhat warm up just a little. It was quite awhile before the ice melted enough (i know from a test run) to start dripping, thus reducing the time without watering greatly.

thanks a lot guys got home today and they were all just fine. Not even dry!!!!
