Mist is way too wide

How do you guys avoid spraying everything within two feet of the cage? I've tried a hand mister, a pump hand mister, and even a DIY with the mist heads from home depot (the small ones used in the auto systems and in grocery stores), and every single one of them creates a spray radius way too excessive. How wide is the Mist King and Rain Maker systems? Do you guys just not really worry about soaking your drywall (if not, you probably should!)?

You can get the raindome kit which will create a controlled drip, if that makes sense...Others with the misters sometimes put a plastic sheet on the side that splashes the drywall.

I have a mistking and I have shower curtains covering the cage. Before I had shower curtains, I never had an issue with misting out of the cage. You need a good drainage system to use an auto mister. The only reason I have shower curtains now is bc I have 6 chams and don't want them seeing each other. I'll also say, a mistking is the best money i ever spent. I got it from the very start and it's worth every penny. In fact I have two, one for my adults and another for my babies.

I have the aquazamp w/raindome and just ordered another misting nozzle to attach for my big enclosure! :D

mistking if placed in the center will not go out of the 18x18 cage. I put one in the front center and spray down toward the back and get none out. The plants etc... catch most of it and cause it to bead up and drop down. Now if you dont have enuff foliage then yes the mist will have nothing to soak up the majority of the spray.

The nozzles from Home Depot are made with a WIDE spray pattern on purpose. You could tape or glue around the sides to limit the pattern. That is what I will do if I don't like the width of the spray.

You can make your own raindome. Just attach a bowl upside-down on the inside top of your cage. Then aim your nozzle at the inside of the bowl, and it will "rain" into your cage instead.

funny i was just doing a makeshift rain dome pretty easy to set up( just retrofit a nozzle pointing into into a bowl or two litre bottle cut in half, secure to top of viv on out side and rain away) and awesome for setting up over a plant in the viv for lots of drops for the little fellas you can even do a mist rain combo if u have good enough drainage
ill post pics when its complete

I did the same but it really created a circular drip, rather than the true mist the cham wants

Here is what the nozzle looks like with the sides covered. This makes the spray go downwards and creates a drip effect around the sides. I just pushed the nozzle into a piece of 3/8" clear tubing and cut the tubing off just below the bottom of the spray area. It limits the width of the spray pattern.
