Minor and Major Mellers Together...

Well-I figured out what to do with the other Mellers I got-I am keeping it and have named it Minor Mellers...I have just 15 minutes ago put Minor into Major's cage, and Major is not accepting it too well, or at least that is what I am thinking. Todd put his Mellers together and everything is going smoothly. Major is lobe-flapping and looking a bit stressed, while Minor is taking it all in stride. Here are some pics and a video-

Minor doesn't look too happy about it either, he/she just isn't willing to challenge the owner of the territory.

Were they able to see each other before you put them together?
I think it's important to first make sure they have accepted each other from across the room before sticking them in one cage together. Even better is to span a rope bridge between the 2 cages, giving them the opportunity to interact on their terms.

just my 2 cents

No-I appreciate your 2 cents...They have been in cages next to each other for over a week, in perfect view, looking at each other and showing no aggression or fear. I think this may be a longer process to see if they accept each other.

I took Minor back to his own cage-I will wait another month before I introduce them on more neutral grounds.

And I separate them and Minor Mellers wants to go back in with that meanie. See him hanging on the side of the cage?

That video footage with that stare/glare and the ear-flaps moving was awesome!

Just a quick thought, visually - is it possible Minor Mellers wants more greenery to hang out on? His cage has less visual greenery and maybe he is sorta jealous of all that greenery in the cage he can see but can't get too?

Anyways, beautiful chams.
