Microfauna Eating Redwood

So I made a cage strictly out of Red wood and Aluminum Screen. I wanted to make it Bioactive, my concern is, Will Isopods, Springtails, Bio shot from bio dude, Millipedes, a few beetles, Will they eat the RedWood? Some guy here at work says redwood keeps bugs away. Anybody can confirm? Anybody with similar experience? Thanks in advance

Just any water sealer. Flex seal is good. I still suggest lining the wood. I used pond liner which is thick and holds up. Then stapled it to the wood and siliconed around it.
Ok Tnx, I got rid of all my isopods from my last enclosure..... Gone have to collect more... You do earwigs too in your enclosures? i can find eggs easily at work.
