I just got a baby Jackson Chameleon earlier, and the breeder said that he will be thirsty for sure. So the first thing I did was make sure that he had plenty of water and humidity. I had sprayed the enclosure and he did drink off of the leaves eventually but just to be sure at first (this is a 3 month old baby), I put my spray bottle up to his face and let water drip off of it. Without hesitation, he started grabbing it and trying to drink from it. lol unfortunately, he started climbing on it, licking the top. He didn't quite realise what part it was coming from. I have seen other people give their Chameleons water this way as well, and it gave me a thought. As long as I had washed my hands before, would it be okay for me to have my finger wet, dripping water and him drink from that, assuming he is comfortable with it?
