Mesh on side of Viv? Cracked nails

My panther chameleon has fallen a couple of times i noticed his nails are Cracked and broken because of the mesh cage so I'm gonna get some mesh plastic lining to put on the side of his cage to help his nails what mesh lining do you guys recommend?

is the inclosure heavily planted? having more plants vines and such may discourage him from climbing the sides

I put a new one in today it's very bush with lots of vines
